Vegetable and Shrimp Tempura


1/2 cup sliced onion

1/2 cup sweet potato strips

1/2 cup carrot strips

1/2 cup zucchini strips

1/2 cup red bell pepper strips

1/2 cup yellow bell pepper strips

14 ounces pre-cooked shrimp


Black pepper

2 cups wheat flour

2 cups cornstarch

2 cups club soda

Sweet and sour sauce

Oil, for frying


Method of Preparation

In a large bowl, add the onion, sweet potato, carrot, zucchini, bell peppers and shrimp. Season with salt and black pepper and mix well. Set aside.

In another bowl, add the wheat flour, cornstarch, a pinch of salt and club soda. Mix well and pour into the bowl with the veggies and shrimp. Add portions to a pot of hot oil and fry until golden.

Drain on paper towels, and serve with sweet and sour sauce.
